Last Week

Impossible. We can’t be in our last week yet, right? Unbelievable as it may be, we are four work days away from finishing our time here at An Tobar Nua. This past week has been a clash of emotions for me (poor Scott)…the high from our spring break trips, the sadness to leave our friends and home here, the excitement to begin backpacking, and the fear of standing on the edge of the unknown. I keep having to remind myself to stop thinking and start surrendering.

We are so thankful for the time God has given us in Ireland. Over the weekend, we enjoyed times at the market–including yummy Indian food and saying goodbye to our produce man– and great times with friends going out to dinner one last time at our favorite restaurant. At church on Sunday, we were lovingly prayed over with a true sending out and blessing. That evening some of our coworkers and friends gathered for a dinner in honor of a few of us who will be finishing up soon. And tonight, we have our final Tuesday night dinner. Unreal. Despite the confusion of feelings warring inside of me, I find hope and rest in the Lord, the bringer of peace.

“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.”

Colossians 3:15
